Amrakhand recipe - How to make mango shrikhand

Amrakhand recipe - Amrakhand is one of the popular Maharashtrian desserts made with hung curd, mango, sugar and the flavor is infused with cardamom powder. It is prepared during festivals and weekends, usually served with pooris. When it comes to making dessert I always prefer to make smooth and creamy amrakhand which is not only easy but also very quick to prepare. The hung curd is available in sweet shop, otherwise you can also make it at home by draining the thick yogurt through a muslin cloth. Hung curd is called chakka in Marathi. Whenever I have large quantity of yogurt in stock, I make hung curd at home. I prefer to use alphonso mango for this dessert, as it has thick and sweet pulp which is perfect for the thick, creamy amrakhand.

Mango mastani recipe - I never leave a chance to sip mango mastani at Sujatha Mastani, Sadashiv Peth, Pune. Whenever we go to Lakshmi road  for shopping, it is our favourite spot to relish the creamy mango mastani and we enjoy it thoroughly in true sense. During summer this mastani parlour is always over crowded and sometimes, to get the seat, we have to wait for at least half an hour and in the end when we get the chance it is worth waiting.

I make rasayana with mashmelon (chibud), muskmelon, ripe banana (plantain) and mango. This is one of the best desserts I like to make often. You can prepare it within few minutes and during mango season it is usually served as a dessert after meal. Some even like to enjoy with pooris.

Thank you Milind and Bhavana for so much love and affection. We ate few pedhas and I used some of them to make this lovely soft and delicious mango burfi. You can add up some soaked cashew nut paste to the mango pulp to make it rich and creamy.

This juice is hundred  times better than the juice available in the market which contains preservative and lots of sugar. If you do not like the flavor of ginger and taste of lemon, skip these two items and get pure mango juice.
