Shimla mirch besan ki sabji is a Maharashtrian style bhaji prepared with capsicum and gram flour. This sabji is popularly called as dabbu mirchichi peeth perun bhaji in Marathi. This sabji goes well with chapathi and roti. This is a nice accompaniment for plain rice and dal. It is an easy and hassle free sabji which can be prepared in a jiffy. Being a dry sabji it is convenient to pack in the lunch box also.

Ghosale sukke - As I always buy plenty of ridge gourds from market, I make simple ghossale sukke several times which goes well with rotis. Ridge gourd is a bland vegetable and therefore it is necessary to add flavour and taste to it. When I make this upkari without adding water and cooked it in its own juice, it really turns a tasty side dish.

Here I have flavored the stir fry with tadka, green chilli and freshly grated coconut. Another plus point of this dish is that it can be prepared within few minutes and is very healthy. Whenever I am in a hurry to cook, I make such stir fry and wind up my cooking as fast as I can. Check out another variation of  ridge gourd palya which I had posted earlier.

Eating karlyachi bhaji without adding jaggery or sugar is beneficial for health. Some people do not discard the seeds and use them as it is in the  bhaji for more medicinal benefits. But I made this  karlyachi peeth perun bhaji using jaggery and tamarind for taste which reduces the bitterness and increases the taste. While preparing this karlaychi peeth perun bhaji, I discarded the seeds and lightly scraped out the outer skin. You can make this bhaji along with seeds.

Beetroots are very low in calories and contain zero cholesterol. They are good source of minerals such as iron, manganese, copper and magnesium. They contain ample amount of folate and potassium. Potassium controls blood pressure. It is helpful in metabolic process and muscle function. Magnesium is helpful for the formation of bone in the body. They are sweet in taste because they contain more sugar than starch. Whatever it may be, I made this raita  for simple reason. While buying other vegetables, I found fresh beetroots and bought them. I made raita from it. We ate and enjoyed.
