paratha in a serving plate
Stuffed paneer, cauliflower, potato paratha recipe - Most of the time, I end up in making parathas either for breakfast or lunch. I am always keen to make parathas and happily make them because these contain some vegetables which is essential for nourishment and satiation. Paneer  cauliflower paratha is a star dish, both the combination create creamy texture, rich and higher in taste if compared to other vegetable parathas.  Hence this is an ideal party dish too. Anyway, I had prepared this for our breakfast. Being a bit heavy on stomach, I compensate with a light lunch and manage the calories for the day.

Baby corn pakoda or pakora recipe - Today I have come up with a highly irresistible baby corn pakoda, an absolutely perfect evening snack with a hot cup of  tea, coffee, juice or lassi. I made this zestful pakoda with the batter in combination with  all purpose flour or  maida and corn flour. On hot summer days, we generally experience the feeling of dehydration and thirst due to over sweating . Musk melon juice prevents these problems. It cools the stomach and comforts the throat. Though its raining here, the atmosphere is still warm and I felt like having some sumptuous fruit juice. Therefore, I thought of muskmelon which is readily available.

Kharbuja rasayana recipe - Cantaloupe rasayana recipe

Kharbuja  rasayana recipe - Kharbuja rasayana is a delicious all season dessert, commonly made in Karnataka. Muskmelon in combination with  coconut milk make this dish an extremely pleasing dessert when sweetened with jaggery and induced with cardamom flavor. Traditionally, coconut paste is used to make the rasayana. But somehow, we like to have it in coconut milk rather than coconut paste.

Tomato saaru recipe - Tomato curry recipe

tomato curry in a serving bowl
Tomato saaru recipe - Curry is known as saaru in South Karnataka. This is an easy curry recipe which can be prepared very quickly. This is a staple gravy of that region which is served with hot rice. To make such saaru, some people make curry powder called saarina hudi at home. This powder is very handy and busy moms can prepare and store it to use as and when required. This saarina hudi is also available in the grocery store. To make this saaru coconut is an essential ingredient. Instead of saarina hudi, I have used fresh spices which is also gives fresh fragrance to the curry. Tomato saaru tastes great when accompanied with hot rice, papad, chutney and pickle.

Gavarfali ki sabzi recipe - Cluster beans sabzi

gavarfali ki sabzi in a serving gbowl
Gavarfali ki sabzi recipe - A simple side dish prepared with humble and down to earth cluster beans. It is good source of dietary fibers. Being rich in fiber it digests slowly and helps in weight loss. Fibers help to reduce the risk of heart disease. Cluster beans are slightly bitter in taste, but the addition of coconut and jaggery reduces the bitterness of cluster beans in the sabzi. This sabzi is usually served with roti, chapati or rice and curry. I personally like to have it with rice.
