Burfi paratha recipe | Stuffed sweet paratha

Burfi paratha is a stuffed sweet paratha which is prepared using besan mawa burfi. I have used some home made burfi just to finish them off in a different and tastier way. Like puran poli, this is also served with ghee and milk but definitely tastes different than regular puran poli. To make such burfi parathas you can also use any variety of burfis like mango burfi and almond burfi. The stuffing process is similar to other parathas. So, today I am sharing this recipe to show you how to use  burfis to make delicious stuffed sweet parathas.

Ingredients (1 cup = 250 ml)
  • 2 cups wheat flour
  • 4 large sized besan mawa burfis
  • Salt as required
  • Ghee as required
  • 1 tbsp sugar powder (optional)

Method
  1. Put wheat flour in a large plate. Add salt and sufficient water. Knead it to a smooth and firm dough. Cover with lid and keep it aside for 10 minutes.
  2. In the meantime, grate the burfis in another plate, mix the sugar powder and keep it aside.
  3. Divide the dough into 7 equal round portions. Spread some wheat flour on one portion of the dough.
  4. Then roll out this portion of dough ball into a small, thick and round roti.
  5. Place 2 tbsp of grated burfi on the roti. Lift the edges to the top and join them to give a modak shape. Twist the tip and flatten it.
  6. Spread some wheat flour on above prepared dough ball. Roll it as thin as possible to make burfi paratha.
  7. Heat a  pan over a medium flame and gently place the burfi paratha.
  8. Pour 1/4  tsp ghee on it. Cook for 3-4 minutes until light golden colour from both sides.
  9. Remove from the pan and serve the burfi paratha hot with ghee and milk.
