Akki Hittu Thalipeeth | Tandalache Thalipeeth | Rice Flour Thalipeeth

Akki hittu thalipeeth  is a rice flour based thalipeeth prepared by using rice flour and rava. This rice flour thalipeeth is soft, flavourful and delicious.  Akki hittu thalipeeth is a popular breakfast dish in Karnataka. The similar variety of  thalipeeth is prepared in Maharashtra and is called tandalache thalipeeth. This is a very tasty and filling breakfast option. This thalipeeth is usually served with coconut chutney. It also goes well with fresh coriander chutney. In this dish, addition of coconut enriches the taste. Onion, ginger and cumin seeds enhances the flavour. Rava is added to get the desired texture and taste.

Bhajnichi thalipeeth recipe - Multi grain flour thalipeeth

Bhajnichi thalipeeth recipe - This thalipeeth is very special because I have used bajri or pearl millet instead of rice to make the thalipeeth flour. Bajri is low in glycemic index when compared to rice. Thalipeeth is a healthy dish prepared with bhajni, onion, cilantro and chilli mixture. This is a traditional pancake of Maharashtra prepared in every home with their own version. A very tasty, filling, energetic and nutritious dish with all goodness of pearl millet, green gram, chiickpeas and black gram.  This can be served in the morning as a breakfast and in the evening as a tea time snack for any age group. If you have bhajni in your hand, you can prepare this dish very quickly whenever you want to have and serve.

Bhajni for thalipeeth recipe - Flour for thalipeeth recipe

bhajani in a plate
Bhajni for thalipeeth recipe - Bhajni is nothing but a flour made with roasted rice, green grams, black grams and bengal grams with other essential ingredients such as coriander seeds, cumin seeds and fenugreek seeds. Bhajni is a Marathi word.  I have posted bhajni for chakli earlier. But, this bhajni is slightly different than the bhajni for chakli, as the flour for chakli is ground to fine powder whereas the flour for thalipeeth is coarse.

Sabudana batata thalipeeth recipe - Sago potato thalipeeth

thalipeeth in a serving plate
Sabudana batata thalipeeth recipe - Sabudana Thalipeeth is a substitute to the deep fried Sabudana Vada. Sometimes, I avoid deep frying and stick to the healthy version of shallow frying.  Though it is shallow fried taste wise there is not much difference between shallow fried thalipeeth and deep fried vadas. Thalipeeth tastes great when eaten hot with chutney. Those who are not on fasting can also eat this thalipeeth for their breakfast. This tasty and filling thalipeeth is usually served hot with curd and peanut chutney. It can also prepared using green chilly instead of  red chilly powder.
