Chutney powder recipe - chutney powder prepared with coconut, putani and peanut is very tasty and I like to mix it with curd to serve as a spicy side dish to main meal. To day I am posting an instant chutney powder recipe which is very handy and can be prepared at any time. Definitely you will find this chutney powder very useful to serve with idlis, dosas, chapathis, rice etc. This chutney powder can be used to make wet chutney by mixing it with curd / yogurt. Here is the simple version of instant chutney powder which is really easy to make.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup grated dry coconut / khobri
- 1/2 cup roasted split bengal gram / putani
- 1/2 cup peanuts / ground nuts , roasted and husked
- 1 heaped tsp cumin seeds / jeera , roasted
- 1 tsp amchur powder or small grape sized tamarind
- 2 heaped tsp chilli powder, slightly roasted
- 1 tsp sugar or jaggery
- Salt to tatse
Preparation
- Heat a pan and roast the peanuts till they become crisp. Cool them and remove the husks.
- Grate the dry coconut. Heat a pan and dry roast it till it becomes aromatic and crisp.
- Roast the putanis till they become crisp. Cool them.
- Blend the roasted peanuts in a mixer for few seconds to make a coarse powder.
- Do not run it till it becomes sticky. Keep it aside.
- Mix together the putanis and other ingredients except coconut and peanuts.Grind them into a fine powder.
- Add peanut coarse powder to the putani powder in the mixer and grind them to a fine powder
- Now add roasted coconut in this fine powder and again grind it to a fine powder to make an instant chutney powder.
- Store the chutney powder in an airtight container. It can be stored for about a month.
