Kela Pakoda Recipe - Raw Banana Pakora

Ingredients
- 2 raw bananas
- 3/4 cup gram flour / kadle hittu / besan
- 1/4 cup rice flour
- 1 tbsp corn flour (optional)
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp chilly powder
- pinch of carom seeds / ajwain
- Oil for frying
- Salt to taste
- Mix the gram flour, rice flour and corn flour together in a bowl. Mix well. Add a tsp of chilly powder, turmeric powder, ajwain and salt to it. Mix well.
- Now add some water and make a thick batter to coat the banana slices. Make a thicker batter to get a thicker coat.
- Wash, peel and chop the bananas into thin slices. Apply 1/2 tsp chilly powder and a pinch of salt to the banana slices and keep it aside for 2 - 3 minutes.
- Heat oil in a frying pan. Take 1 tbsp hot oil from the pan and mix with the batter.
- Now dip few banana slices in the batter and drop them gently in oil one by one.
- Allow them to cook till golden brown from bottom.
- Turn gently to cook the other side. Fry on medium low flame till golden brown from both sides.
- When it is done, remove and drain with a slotted spoon.
- Serve kela pakoda hot with mint coriander chutney or tomato chutney.
