2 raw bananas / plantain, sliced
3/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 ½ tbsp chilly powder
1/2 tsp ajwain / carom seeds
1/2 tsp cumin powder / jeera powder
1/2 tsp tamarind pulp
3/4 tbsp rava / semolina
Oil as required
Salt to taste
Balekayi phodi or kele phodi recipe.
- Peel and cut the bananas into thin slices. Put these banana slices in the water. Squeeze out from the water and apply turmeric powder and little salt to it. In a large bowl, combine together all the ingredients except bananas and mix well
- Now add the banana slices to it and rub the masala until well coated. Keep it aside for 5 minutes. Heat a griddle or pan and pour some oil on it.
- Place the slices in one layer. Shallow fry till the slices turn slightly hard. Gently flip and shallow fry it until light brown from both sides. Serve balekayi phodi or kele phodi along with main course dish.
