Balekayi Phodi Recipe - Roasted Spicy Raw Banana

Ingredients
- 2 raw bananas / plantain, sliced
- 3/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 ½ tbsp chilly powder
- 1/2 tsp ajwain / carom seeds
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder / jeera powder
- 1/2 tsp tamarind pulp
- 3/4 tbsp rava / semolina
- Oil as required
- Salt to taste
- Peel and cut the bananas into thin slices. Put these banana slices in the water. Squeeze out from the water and apply turmeric powder and little salt to it.
- In a large bowl, combine together all the ingredients except bananas and mix well
- Now add the banana slices to it and rub the masala until well coated. Keep it aside for 5 minutes.
- Heat a griddle or pan and pour some oil on it.
- Place the slices in one layer. Shallow fry till the slices turn slightly hard.
- Gently flip and shallow fry it until light brown from both sides.
- Serve balekayi phodi or kele phodi along with main course dish.
