Cheese omelette recipe - A very delicious omelette prepared by using eggs, cheddar cheese slices and pepper powder. This is one of the easiest egg dishes to prepare and is a popular cuisine of the world. Using eggs in various dishes is very common to non-vegetarians. Omelette is a hassle free dish which can be cooked in few minutes. This omelette pairs well with couple of bread slices toasted in butter.

Most of the time I like to make onion omelette with green chillies and fresh corianders. I make it  often, but both the versions are my family's favorite. Eggs and cheese combination tastes great and this can be prepared with only few ingredients, if you don't like a long list of ingredients. Making pepper powder in a dry mixer jar is very easy, and can be stored for a long time to use in such dishes as and when required.

I always like eggs because it makes life easier in the kitchen. This is one of the egg dishes which I always prepare when we need urgent snacks either for breakfast or in the evening. Though I have used cheddar cheese slices in this recipe, you can substitute it with any other cheese like mozzarella, amul cheese slices and grated cheese.

While making cheese omelette cook it till the base and surface become firm, then place the cheese slices and cook till the cheese melts. Once the cheese melts immediately fold the omelette and cook on low flame for a couple of minutes and switch of the heat. Cheese  become chewy if it is overcooked. Egg omelette Recipe - How to make egg omelette

Egg omelette recipe - Egg omelette is a hassle free snack or dish that I make often. It is convenient to carry in the lunch box too. Fresh, hot omelette goes great with bread slices as sandwich. It is also served as a side dish along with any main course.It can also be eaten as it is.  Because of it's simplicity, versatility, and taste, it has become favorite part of our diet. Many like it for this reason.

Now,  I'm explaining here about proteins (in eggs) and cholesterol in short. Protein is the most important nutrient required to build and repair our system. It also satisfies the hunger without adding fat or calories.

Egg yolk (yellow part) contains cholesterol and no protein. If you want to avoid fat and cholesterol, you can avoid using egg yolk. But, egg white contains all of the  proteins of an egg and it has no cholesterol. It means egg white is very good for health. Here is the simple version of my omelette that even a small child can do it. Note that you can add vegetables like carrot, capsicum, cabbage, mushroom, etc. to it.

Ingredients 
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped,
  • 1 large green chilly, chopped,
  • Fistful of chopped fresh corianders,
  • 1/4 tsp red chilly powder (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil as required
Method
  1. Mix  together the onion, green chilly and coriander leaves in a large bowl. Beat the eggs and add to it. Add salt and chilly powder. Whip the mixture until light. 
  2. Heat a non-stick griddle and apply oil on it. Pour the egg mixture and spread it to a round shape. Cook till the bottom becomes firm
  3. Flip the egg omelette and cook from another side too. 
  4. Serve the egg omelette hot with bread slices.
