Modak Recipes

Collection of modak recipes - Modak is an essential sweet dish prepared during Ganesh chaturthi festival and Sankashti Chaturthi in every month. There are several varieties of modaks are made to offer as prasad or naivedya to Lord Ganesh. Among them very popular Maharshtrian modaks are ukadiche modak, fried modak and ukadiche modak prepared using mould. I have posted three varieties of modaks. The filling is the mixture prepared with coconut and jaggery. The outer cover for both varieties of ukadiche modak is made with rice flour. The outer cover for fried modak is made from wheat flour. These are very easy naivedya sweets which can be prepared easily.

Ukadiche Modak using mould - Ukadiche modak is a steamed rice flour sweet dumpling with coconut, jaggery filling, popular in Maharashtra and Southern India. Both Ukadiche Modak and fried modaks are very essential naivedya during Ganesh Chturthi festival and Sankashti Chaturthi day. Fried Modak - Fried modak is popularly known as talalele modak in marathi. This modak is a traditional Maharashtrian deep fried sweet snack prepared with coconut jaggery filling and outer cover is made with wheat flour. Learn how to make fried modaks with easy to follow instructions. 

Ukadiche Modak - Ukadiche Modak is a traditional Maharashtrian prasad or naivedya sweet dish. This is prepared with coconut jaggery filling and outer cover is made with rice flour. This modak is similar to ukadiche modak made using mould. Only the difference is made by hand without using the mould.
